Upcoming Complimentary Travel Insurance changes

You can check your eligibility for domestic and international travel insurance and obtain a letter of eligibility by using the Allianz Global Assistance eligibility portal, opens in new window. From 15 May 2026, these cards below will no longer have complimentary international and domestic travel insurances:

  • MyCard Rewards (excluding previously Card Services Silver Rewards MasterCard)
  • MyCard Platinum
  • MyCard Platinum Qantas
  • MyCard Clear (previously Card Services Platinum Low Rate Mastercard)

Please check the relevant policy for your travel period prior to departure to understand what you are covered for including whether you are still eligible for cover.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria varies for complimentary international and domestic travel insurance. Check the following information and the MyCard Credit Card Complimentary Insurance Policy Information Booklet (PDF, 583KB), opens in new window for the eligibility criteria to see if you’re eligible for either type of insurance.

Your spouse and your dependants travelling with you may be covered by this policy if they meet the eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and applicable sub-limits apply.

Domestic Travel Insurance

To be eligible for domestic travel insurance, you must reside in Australia and:

  • the entire cost of your return domestic flight ticket is charged to the accountholder’s card account prior to commencing the journey; or
  • at least $250 of prepaid travel costs are charged to the accountholder’s card account and you have a return domestic flight ticket prior to commencing the journey.

International Travel Insurance

To be eligible for international travel insurance, you must reside in Australia and:

  • spend at least $500 of prepaid travel costs on an eligible card or through a frequent flyer or travel program as outlined in the Policy Information Booklet.
  • hold a return overseas travel ticket before departing Australia.
  • be aged under 81 years at the time you become eligible.

Excess

A maximum $600 excess may apply for each international travel claim made and $75 for each domestic travel insurance claim made. Email: You can also download, opens in new window and complete the relevant claim form and email cardclaims@allianz-assistance.com.au.

Call: Call Allianz Global Assistance on 1800 072 791 (within Australia), Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm AEST.

Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Calls from mobiles, public telephones or hotel rooms may attract additional charges.
