We're aware of scam emails being sent that impersonate MyCard asking customers to verify their account details to restore full access to their account. Do not click the link or provide any information.

  • The email will say that we reached out regarding a manual verification required for your account and that we have temporarily limited certain card features. They will provide a link for you to click to restore the features by completing a verification process.
  • Do not reply to the message, click the link or copy the URL into your browser and block the sender immediately.

Eligibility criteria

MyCard cardholders are eligible for covered items and valuables purchased anywhere in the world; or purchased and given as a gift to any permanent Australian resident, provided the whole purchase price of the covered item is charged to the accountholder’s card account. Please note you are covered for 90 consecutive days after the date you take possession of the covered item or valuable.

What is covered?

  • You are covered for the purchase price charged to card account except for jewellery, watches and new works of art which are limited to $5,000 per claim.
  • The maximum total limit for all claims in any twelve (12) consecutive month period is $200,000 per card account.

How to make a claim

To make a claim, use one of the following methods:

In the event that you need to make a claim under this cover (especially if claiming whilst overseas), it will be necessary for you or your agents to provide information to establish your eligibility as reasonably requested by Allianz Global Assistance or its agents. Without this information it may not be possible for Allianz Global Assistance or its agents to give approval for overseas medical attention or assistance.

With this in mind you should make sure you can access the following documents when you travel:

  • The MyCard Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Policy Information Booklet (PDF, 619KB)
  • Copies of your overseas travel ticket; and either:
  • your eligible credit card account statement and/or credit card receipt to confirm the purchase of your overseas travel tickets; or
  • evidence confirming that your overseas travel ticket was arranged under the required number of reward or Qantas Frequent Flyer points were transferred or redeemed in exchange for your overseas travel ticket.
